The riverbed upstream to the village of Svitene and downstream from the P94 road is regulated, straightened. In the middle section, the river curves through a faint valley, and for 1 km the Svitene is the border river between Latvia and Lithuania.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In spring water, the river has practically no shores, the water flows seamlessly into carefully maintained fields. The lack of shores opens up the landscape to the horizon. At times, the river ahead of you is like a giant slalom, with 3-4 bends of the river ahead as you gently descend the hill. It looks more like boats gliding in a well-kept field. First to one side, then the other.  The farms on the shores of Svitene fit very well into the landscape.
