Join the boat trip on the Mēmele river in the section near Skaistkalne!
The trip will start just above Skaistkalne, and we will paddle down to the Āne – Mēmele manor park.
The Mēmele river in this section is a border river—on one bank is Latvia, and on the other is Lithuania!
The trip is scenic, peaceful, and offers an opportunity to explore the rich diversity of Latvia’s aquatic flora.
Water plants and reeds will be a constant companion in the river during the summer, however, they do not hinder paddling in this section.
The Mēmele river is one of the rare navigable rivers (by boat) in Zemgale, Augšzeme, and Sēlija regions.
Thanks to its status as a border river, it has been spared the fate of the nearby Dienvidsusēja river and has not been exploited by small hydropower plants.

INFORMATION:
1) The route is easy—there’s a gentle current, no fallen trees, and while there are aquatic plants in the river, they do not hinder paddling.
2) The day before the trip, until 12:00, you will receive an informative e-mail from us (also check the spam box)
3) The trip may be canceled due to bad weather conditions (such as prolonged, persistent rain, etc.) or if fewer than 4 boats have registered.
4) After the finish, it’s possible to have a picnic; snacks and drinks must be provided by participants themselves.
5) You must bring your passport or ID card with you.
6) The price includes transportation for the drivers.
