Perhaps the only time this season we’ll take this route!
The Bērze River, in its 109-kilometer-long course, displays its diverse nature – at one point it is calm and serene, as a typical river in Zemgale should be, and then suddenly, as if awakened, it begins to meander with loops and picturesque bends.
We will take the most exciting part of the river Bērze!
The journey will begin at the Dobele Hydroelectric Power Plant dam, located opposite the “Chemical Plant Spodrība,” and will end at Miltiņi, by Miltiņkrogs, where you can replenish after the trip.
The first kilometers of the river will be calmer, but then it becomes swifter as it winds through Ķestermežs – there, the riverbanks are unusually steep in some places. Further on, we will reach Parūķi Mill – nowadays, only the ruins of the mill walls on the left bank of the Bērze and the collapsed dam remain. If the water level will be high enough, we’ll experience some more extreme sensations as we navigate through the ruins of the collapsed dam. After that, the river with its moderate stream will lead us all the way to Miltiņi.
The journey definitely promises not to be boring – the route may include fallen trees that can be navigated around with the boat or bypassed along the shore.

INFORMATION:
1) The route is of moderate difficulty – the current is not strong, but there may be some fallen trees to navigate around.
2) The day before the trip, by 12:00, you will receive an informative email from Ozolaivas!
3) The trip may be canceled due to bad weather conditions or if fewer than 3 boats have registered!
4) One rest on the riverbank, snacks, and drinks should be provided by yourselves!
5) Driver transportation is included in the price!
