Description
In the small rivers of Zemgale, spring has arrived – the ice has melted, and the water level is excellent for paddling those routes that are not possible at lower water levels!
During the summer season, the Vircava river resembles a large ditch, although it is wider and partially navigable in the lower reaches. However, its most interesting sections are only navigable at high water levels.
Right now it is the moment to explore Vircava!
The Vircava river is a tributary of the left side of the Lielupe river, which starts in Lithuania in the Pašvitines seņunija. The river bed is regulated and straightened in most of its course, and it flows into the Lielupe River in the south-east of Jelgava (near Sieramuiža).
