Categories: ,

Description

The most classic and scenic Lielupe river route – from Bauska to Mežotne, with a rest break in Jumpravmuiža park!

In spring, the serious Lielupe river also shows its swift nature, of course, it is not like the Amata river, but you can still enjoy rapids. In summer, the flow slows down, but this is considered the fastest part of Lielupe.

The trip will start in Bauska and will take you along the Bauska castle hill to the place where the Mūsa and Mēmele rivers meet into the Lielupe river. From Bauska to Mežotne castle hill, Lielupe flows through a valley formed by dolomites, so along the way you can see from the boats an unusual landscape in Zemgale – dolomite cliffs. There will be a rest break in the Jumpravmuiža park, and you can enjoy the view of the Lielupe river from above. Finish at Mežotne castle.
