Misa from Birzuļi to Dalbe

Categories: ,

Description

Misa is an opportunity to enjoy the beauty of nature, the sound of birds and streams, lazily gliding along the calm waters of the Misa. Misa is like a hidden gem in the heart of Zemgale!

The section of the Misa River from Birzuļi is characterized by a slow, but noticeable current and steep sandy banks.
After the first few kilometers, you’ll reach the village of Ezītis, also known as the “jungle of Olaine”, because in summers, green plants grow both on the shore and in the water. A kilometer after Ezītis, you’ll cross a bridge over the river, followed by approximately a 4 km stretch to Pēternieki. In this section, the river not only widens but also gets more tortuous.
Further on, Misa flows through the residential area of Pēterniekis up to the V28 bridge.
Pēternieki have developed around the former Pēter manor center and the Pēternieki parish council. After Pēternieki, Misa becomes narrower again and meadows and bushes are mainly visible on the banks of the river.
The finish place is right before the Dalbe railway bridge.

In the first 4 km to Ezītis, some tree falls are possible, after Ezīs – the river is cleared.
